Effect of The Filler Type and Particle Distribution Changes on Polyester Matrix Composites

In this study, the effect of usage additives at different initiator ratios as well fillers types and grain distributions on resin consumption compressive strength polyester matrix composites were investigated. Orthophthalic unsaturated (UP) was used a matrix. The (methyl ethyl ketone peroxide) ratio 1.0%, 1.5%, 2.0% accelerator (cobalt octoate) 1.0% by weight to start polymerization. Silica, basalt, quartz sand filler type. All fillings in study prepared size distribution American Foundry Society (AFS 40-45) determined reference Fuller equation (F 1.0). Resin pressure resistances produced determined, SEM analyses carried out. As result all filled composites, minimum achieved starting rate 1.0%. highest 130.43 MPa basalt composite AFS40-45 distribution.
